Beige Mode July 17, 2008
I’d say productivity is a pretty important thing; and being a mortal sometimes I’m just not up to the task of being creative. I find I have many different modes of creativity, which reflect the carnal physiological state. Being carnal means that we are pretty much just enlightened meat machines, and everything we do is rather jack-of-all-trades ish – as opposeed to the unelightened single purpose machines and tools we use (eg. a computer). We will have our emotional ups and downs as destiny takes its toll but any emotional or physiological ups, downs, and sideways movements affect our creativity and it’s important to realise this and plan/react accordingly.
At the moment I call my current state “Beige Mode”, and beige mode sucks the big one. Beige mode is strange state where there is no short of creative spark, and ideas flow with no problem but the rest of the brain is just too tired to categorize the thoughts or to act decisively on any of them, leading to a sense of frustration. Beige mode visually is like a runaway garden hose there’s something being produced, but its just being wasted.
